PG101 is an introductory training designed to increase awareness and understanding of problem gambling and gambling-related harms.

Participants will learn about the stages of gambling, different forms of gambling available in New York State, warning signs of gambling harm, and the ways gambling can affect individuals, families, relationships, finances, and overall well-being.

The training also explores how to respond when someone may be experiencing gambling-related harm, including how to approach concerns without judgment and connect individuals and families with appropriate support and resources.

Topics include: stages of gambling, types of gambling in New York State, warning signs, impacts of gambling-related harm, supporting someone who may be struggling, and available resources.

The goal of PG101 is to promote early identification, reduce stigma, and give participants practical foundational knowledge for recognizing and responding to gambling-related concerns.
